Eunice McGhin

Eunice McGhin, born Eunice Lee Williams, 77, of Beaumont, Texas, passed from this life to Jesus on March 19, 2011 at The Oaks Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 22nd at 1:00 pm, with funeral services beginning 3:30 pm at Claybar Kelly-Watkins funeral home. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Eunice was born on February 11, 1934 and lived in East Texas all of her life, residing in Beaumont for over 50 of those years, retiring from Rogers Bros Enterprises. A prolific poet and songwriter, Eunice, was an active member of The Apostolic Church and later Abundant Life of Beaumont until entering the nursing home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. McGhin, son, Timothy F. McGhin, father, Sam Houston Williams, mother, Lorena Sanders and sister, Katie Laurent. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Karen Fine and husband Melvin; daughter-in-law Janet McGhin; sister Polly Danna and husband Joe; 4 granddaughters, April Anderson and husband Jason, Rachel Fikar and husband Michael, Holly Bell and husband Charlie, and Meredith McGhin; 1 grandson, Chris Fine and wife Sophia; 5 great-grandchildren Timothy, Isaac, Rebekah, Lyra and Harrison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

I will miss Aunt Eunice...she always had such a big heart! : A couple of years ago, me and my two sisters, Teresa and Lisa would go visit her at The Oaks. My Grandma meant more to me than I could attempt to put into words. She was my biggest supporter, my caregiver, my comfort. Her spirit's departure from this world is bittersweet. I am so happy for her, to be free of pain, free from the sadness of this ##imported-begin##Rachel##imported-end##
