Evelyn Carey Odom - Labrie-Claybar

Evelyn Carey Kerr Odom, 84, was born Dec. 13, 1925 and went to be with our Lord Dec 28, 2009 in New Braunfels, TX. Born in Beaumont, she lived most of her life in Austin. She retired from The University of Texas accounting department after 25 years

and was a longtime, very passionate, "Longhorns" supporter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, M.D. "Shorty" Odom;

her brothers, Neil and Herschel Kerr; and sister, Aline Kerr Clark.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Stahlman and husband, Alan; sister, Margaret Gainer and husband, Henry; brother, Steve Kerr and wife, Bobbie;

sisters-in-law; Delores Kerr and Billie Black; grandchildren, Matt and Chad; great-grandsons, Jackson, Andrew, and Kenner; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will held at 11:30 am, Thursday, Dec. 31 at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Reception after the service will be in the Family Center of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
