Evelyn Crochet, 84, of Beaumont was born July 23, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas and passed away August 6, 2014 at her residence in Beaumont.

A lifelong resident of Southeast, Texas, Mrs. Crochet was a retired cafeteria worker with the Beaumont Independent School District and a member of the Apostolic Church in Beaumont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Lucille (LeBlanc) Pitrey; husband, Mervin Crochet; granddaughter, Michelle Williams; sister, Julia Meaux and brother, Jimmy Pitrey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda Crochet of Beaumont, Cheryl Williams and husband, Michael, of La Porte, Texas; sons, Gerald and Michael Crochet of Beaumont; grandchildren, Shane Taylor, Jason Womack, Chris King, Kimberly Williams, Jeremy Crochet, Shaun Crochet, Tim Crochet; 6 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Havens of Lumberton and step-sister, Lou Miller of Nederland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, August 8th, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
