Evelyn Brinson Strickland, 66, of Beaumont was born Dec. 30, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas and passed away June 1, 2017 in Beaumont. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 12:00 P.M. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Evelyn was a retired operator with Clark Chemical in Port Arthur. She loved to travel, was an avid reader and loved animals- especially horses and her cats.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Gordon Bonin of Beaumont; mother, Myrlene Brinson of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Hannah, Jonathan, Emily, and Kaley Breaux of Beaumont; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Charles Petry of Vidor; brother, Charles E. Brinson, Jr. and wife, Theresa of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Brinson and her life partner of 23 years, Delores Gilbert.
