Fern Marie Penny, 82, passed from this life into eternity with the Lord on Friday, Sept 19, 2008.
Born April 13, 1926, in Seymour , TX , she moved to Orange in 1944 where she and her husband raised a family of three children. Prior to her retirement from West Orange/Cove ISD, she worked in the cafeteria at Bancroft Elementary School . She was a former Water Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross, and enjoyed swimming, crochet, and playing Skip-Bo. Penny was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Orange where she served on the Board of Trustees until her death.
She is survived by one son, Joe Edward Penny and wife Linda of Benton, La; daughters Linda Nell Penny Mills and husband Billy of Orange, and Llanona Faye Penny Cody Nonie and husband Harold of Sugar Land, Tx; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Sunday, Sept 21 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Tx from 12:30 - 1:30 PM with burial following at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
