Flo Anne Mazzola Moore

Flo Anne Mazzola Moore, 76, born February 14, 1932, to Samuel J. Mazzola and Dora A. Mazzola, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 19, 2008. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her beloved family.

At age sixteen, Flo Anne graduated valedictorian from Beaumont High School in 1948. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton and Sam Houston State College in Huntsville where she received a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education in 1952. She taught elementary school in North Carolina and in Beaumont for the South Park Independent School District and Beaumont Independent School District. In June of 1954, she married Ebb Moore whom she met at Sam Houston State College.

For over forty years Flo Anne served as the director of music at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Under her direction, many young people became interested in music and joined the church orchestra and many still play today. In the early years, she orchestrated and arranged many church choruses and songs that were not available in music publication. She was very passionate and faithful in service to her church through music ministry. She was also passionate about spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Flo Anne is preceded in death by her father, Samuel J. Mazzola; mother, Dora Anne Mazzola and brother, Samuel J. Mazzola, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Ebb Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Kevin Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Vickie Moore; grandchildren, Nathan Adams, Andrew Moore, Abigail Moore and Emily Moore. She is also survived by first cousins, Mary Lou Fulton of Beeville, Dan Dubose and his wife, Grace of Ingleside, Pat Ellis of Katy, Sue Johnston and her husband, Joe of Nassau Bay, Gordon Mann, Jr. and his wife, Shirley of Houston, and Roxanna Richardson, Jerry Mazzola and Jan K. Sultanik of Beaumont. She is also survived by many innumerable friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 22, 2008, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont.
