Frances Meindl David

Marian Frances Allis Rennie Meindl David, of Orange, Texas passed away on February 11, 2009 from complications of Parkinson's disease.

Frances was born on August 21, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to Frances and Richard Allis.

She is survived by her husband, Jules David and sister, Jane Whitlock of Port Arthur, TX.

Frances was preceded in death by her first husband, Nick Rennie originally of Whitaker, North Carolina and second husband, Hugh Meindl, originally from Two Harbors, MN.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and attended the University of Texas, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a charter member of the Orange Women's Service League. Frances loved playing bridge with her friends and was particularly proud of becoming a Life Master. Her beautiful blue eyes, quick wit and eloquent sense of style caught everyone's attention. Her great faith in God carried her through the difficult times and Jules David was ever the constant, kind, supportive and loving husband.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children and their spouses, Allis Rennie of Leicester, England, Amy and Nick Meindl of Dallas, TX and Mary and Jack Gracheck of Dallas, TX, her grandchildren and their spouses, Rennie and Bart O'Connor of Pinehurst, NC, Rosie and James Meindl of Columbus, OH, and John Meindl, William Gracheck and Mary Allis Gracheck of Dallas, TX. She also is survived by her wonderful and loving stepchildren and their spouses: Jane and John David of Arlington Heights, Il., Cheryl and Larry David of Orange, Jeanie David of Kingwood, TX, Julie and Terry Lyons of Austin, TX, Mary Irene and Tom Murray of Kingwood, TX, Joanie Foreman of Orange, Janie and Carl Leedy of Bakersfield, Ca., Jim David of Beaumont, TX and Annie and Jim Koehler of Arlington, TX, plus several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Sara Taylor, Ethel Tezeno, Pat Wilkes and Bertha Edwards for the loving care they have provided Fran over the last few years as well as the Southeast Texas Hospice.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm.

The Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, February 16, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, located at 912 West Cherry Ave, Orange, TX 77630.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be Clint Goodin and her grandchildren, Rennie O'Connor, James Meindl, John Meindl, William Gracheck and Mary Allis Gracheck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc. Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL. 33136-1494 www.parkinson.org or a charity of your choice.
