Frances Marie Vincent

1942 ∼ 2017

Frances Marie Vincent, of Beaumont, passed away on Friday, November 3. She was born August 20, 1942. She is predeceased by her parents Al and Alice Rose Vincent and siblings Albert Baxter Vincent and Carol Linda Vincent Patton.

A native of Beaumont, in her youth Franny was active in the Melody Maids and the Beaumont Community Theater. She was a great lover of the arts and took joy in the creativity of the friends that she surrounded herself with. She attended Lamar University and worked in office administration for most of her career. She spent many years living in Houston and the Los Angeles area, but ultimately ended up back in Beaumont.

Franny was a person of rich textures, complexity and depth. She was intelligent, generous and brave. She enjoyed cooking, reading and playing the piano. She had a beautiful singing voice and a wild joyous laugh. To those who loved her, she was defined by opposites. Franny was a fierce competitor and would not back down from a challenge or a fight, but was also tender and easily hurt by a world that could not live up to her ideals of justice. She is survived by nephews Karl Bowles and Mark Bowles, and nieces Alysoun Marks, Marie Nordgren, Rose Dore, Kate Vincent Roden and Anne Vincent Paul.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 2:00 pm at Claybar Funeral Home, 1155 N. 11th St. in Beaumont.
