Frank Swinford Hatton

Frank Swinford. Hatton, 86, of Bridge City, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone, pastor of First Baptist Church and Reverend Bill Collier, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Bridge City.

Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery in Bridge City under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the church.

Mr. Hatton was a descendant of one of the early families to settle in Prairie View, now known as Bridge City. He was the son of Roy M. and Lois Faulk Hatton having been born in Prairie View on September 10, 1922, where he remained a life long resident.

Mr. Hatton retired from Texaco after 37 years of employment. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridge City where he had served as Deacon and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Jane Walters; brother, Roy Melvin Hatton; and sister, Abbie Don Hatton Webb.

Mr. Hatton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Hatton of Bridge City; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Janice Hatton of Buna, Terrell and Mildred Hatton of Bridge City; nine grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Ray Brown, Frank Steven Hatton, Lainey Kay Hatton Britnell, Brooke Shondel Hatton Sims, Terrell Keith Hatton, Robyn LeJune Hatton, Jesica Dawn Hatton, Summer Dawn McQuerry and Derek Paul Milstead; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Hatton, Stephen Brown, Keith Hatton, Darrin Sims, Mark Hatton, Dale "Buddy" Fuselier and Michael Hatton
