Funeral services for Gabriel Lewis Valdez, 66 of Beaumont will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.
Gabe was born on December 10, 1949 in Beaumont to Angel and Soledad (Rodriguez) Valdez and passed away March 30, 2016 in Beaumont. He retired from M & I Electrical where he worked as an electrician and machinist. Gabe loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Second only to his family, were Gabe’s love of motorcycles and his car.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Soledad Valdez of Beaumont; son, Michael Valdez and wife, Paula of Buna; daughter, Deanna Sonnier and husband, Charles, of Fannett; step-children, Donna Lewis of Beaumont, Jason Lewis of Marion, Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Barbara Valdez of Vidor, Manuel and Lori Valdez of Beaumont; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Freddy Khoshghadami of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary and Luis Andreu of Miami, Florida; and his significant other, Carol Groze of Spring, Texas.
Gabe was preceded in death by his father, Angel Valdez; and brothers, Michael and Tommy Valdez.
