Gene L. Cox

Funeral services for Gene L. Cox, 79, of Humble will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, November 5 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Cox was born December 11, 1930 in Coleman, Texas and passed away October 30, 2010 in Humble, Texas. A former resident of Beaumont, he had resided in Humble for the past 15 years and was a retired traffic coordinator for Mobil Chemical.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lyn Pink Crossland and Dollie Brown Crossland; brother, Jimmy Cox; and daughters, Debbie Miller and Karen Hale.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jewel Cox of Humble; daughters, La Wanda Williams of Houston, Brenda Vogel and husband, Jerome of Beaumont, Ladea Martin and husband, Marvin of Garrison, Texas; sons, Danny Cox and wife, Becky of Beaumont and Billy Michael Igo and wife, Denise of Humble; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
