Gene Teneag Marks

Gene ?Teneag? Marks, 81, of West Orange, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehab in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Jett Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Orange, Texas on June 1, 1929, Gene was the son of Joseph and Pearlie Mae Dyson Marks. He worked as an instrument mechanic at DuPont Sabine Riverworks until his retirement. He was involved with the DuPont Retirees group and with the Nature Classroom. He was a member of Drake Memorial Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Carroll Marks; brother, Jerry Marks; sisters, Florine Marks and Gertrude Tinsley; and sister-in-law, Merle Palmetto.

Gene is survived by his wife, Virginia C. ?June? Marks of West Orange; sons, Gary Austin Marks and wife, Jinx of Beaumont, and Russell Dwayne Marks of Orange; daughter-in-law, Sharon Marks of Kingwood; sister-in-law, Sandi Parkinson and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Dameon Marks and wife, Misty, Coy LaSalle and wife, Lisa, Jade Marks, Cori Marks, Jarrod Marks and wife, Nikki; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers, J.P. Marks and wife, Lois of Orange, and Malcolm Marks and wife, Liz of Clear Lake City; and sister-in-law, Barbara Jane Marks of Orange.
