George Clinton Cowart

George Clinton Cowart, 79, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2023, Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on September 18, 1944, he was the son of Joseph Clark Cowart and Vernie Cowart. George was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Beaumont. He was very active in the church wanting to spread love and happiness to everyone he met. He was married to the love of his life Nancy for 60 years. George was a big fan of football. Since graduating from PNG in 1963 he continued to support the team. One of the families fondest memories of George was a trip to Hawaii since he loved the beach. George loved life and was always happy. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clark Cowart and Vernie Cowart; his son, Monte Clark Cowart; and his nephew, John Andrew Connelly III.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cowart; his brother, Joe Cowart and wife Rita; and his sister, Gayla Cowart Schuff and husband Gary; his nieces, Lisa Horton and husband Billy, Candice Franklin and husband Ron, Sharla Franklin, Stephanie Cowart, Sherri Warner and husband Quinton; his nephew, Micha Schuff; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Creamation will be held under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
