George H. Canizales

George H. Canizales, Sr., 73, of Beaumont passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2009, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Canizales was born August 20, 1936 to Paul Canizales Sr. and Tillie Hinojosa in Burlington. He was a very patriotic man who served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was an avid music lover who was known to have unexpected parties. He also was a very talented chess player who enjoyed playing with his wife and passed the skill onto his children and grandchildren. Before retiring he was a supervisor at chemical company.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Canizales, Sr. and Tillie Hinojosa Canizales; infant son, Paul Joseph Canizales and sisters, Mary Esquibel and Alice Berry.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Marie Canizales; sons, George H. Canizales, Jr. and wife, Debbie; Dennis M. Canizales and wife, Nancy; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Harris and husband Larry and grandchildren, Michele Judd, Kristi Harris, Staci Harris, Jennifer Canizales, Lisa Jauregui, Amanda Canizales, Roberto Gonzalez, Justin Canizales and wife, Wendy, Robert Canizales, Eric Canizales and Mark Canizales. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Crystal Canizales, Hannah Judd, Samantha Judd and Ayden Canizales; sisters, Amelia Daniels, Isabel Flores, Rosie Hinson and Susie Markum and brothers, Joe Canizales, Sr, Paul Canizales, Jr., Arthur Canizales and Rudy Canizales and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Canizales will always be remembered as a fun, loving and generous man who loved his family dearly.
