George Poland, 76, of Orange, Texas passed away Monday, December 14, 2009, at Renaissance Hospital in Groves.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone of First Baptist Church Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

George was born on April 29, 1933, in Angelina County, Texas. He was the son of Kelly and Mary Emma Davis Poland. George served in the U.S. Army and also worked as an accountant for Polysar in Orange.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Charlotte Pollard Poland; and brother, Harold Poland.

George is survived by his wife, Angelina Santos Poland of Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and William Roles of North Richland Hills; step-children, Roddy Johnson and his wife, Kelly of DeRidder, LA and Valerie Hoffpauir and her husband, David of Lake Charles, LA; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Roles and Ciara Roles; and two step-grandchildren, Pierce Johnson and Chelsea Johnson.

Serving as Pallbearers will be William Roles, David Broussard, Tommy Jordan and Jim Parker. Honorary Pallbearer will be Albert Goodwin.
