George B. “Pete” Wood, Jr., 90, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Christian Fellowship Worship Center 3950 Pointe Parkway, Beaumont, Texas .

Born on July 7, 1931, he was the son of George B. Wood, Sr. and Ruth (Lang) Wood. Pete proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to work as a Road Construction Engineer for over 40 years in the Beaumont area. Pete was a charter member of Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont. He was also a former member of the Port Neches Rotary Club. Pete found great joy in traveling and looking at bluebonnets and the Fall foliage on the East Coast. He also enjoyed relaxing and watching Gunsmoke. Above all else, Pete loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a big heart and loved and accepted everyone. Pete will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Wood; and his three loving wives, Frances, Betty, and Frances.

He is survived by his children, George B. Wood III and wife Renee of Beaumont, Jim Wood and wife Sherri of Kountze, Maralee Nicol and husband Gary of Spring, and Randy Rice and wife Debbie; his grandchildren, Alie Awar, Thomas Nicol, Matthew Wood, Christopher Stephenson, Caleb Stephenson, Christian Stephenson, Danielle Carey, and Christy Webb; as well as several great-grandchildren, and other loving family members.
