George Frank Wells

George "Frank" Wells, 71, of Orange, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, in Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Little Cypress Baptist Church with Reverend David Turner officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

George was born on November 15, 1938, in Glenmora, Louisiana. He was the son of Thomas Edmund Wells and Juanita Reed Wells.

George was active in both choirs at Little Cypress Baptist Church where he was a member for 30 years. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid marksman. He was also a volunteer fireman with the Little Cypress Fire Dept. and active with the Chevron Retirees. George loved his grandchildren especially watching his grandson play football.

He was preceded in death by his parents. George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Swindell Wells; son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Anna Wells of Commerce; son, Chris "Shakey" Wells of Hereford; grandson, Sam Wells; granddaughters, Caitie Wells, Tessa Wells and Bailey Wells; and brother, Tommy Wells of Keller.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scotty Wells, Chris Wells, Sam Wells, V.L. Grimes, Jason Grimes, Jim Schatt and Tommy Wells.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Room for God's Children at Little Cypress Baptist Church, 3274 Little Cypress Drive

There is not sorrow that God can not heal. Frank has his travel trailer parked at his home in heaven, waiting for us to join him. I didn't know Frank well but always enjoyed his sense of humor, and love his family. I have fond memories of going to his parents' church in Long Leaf, LA with my grandparents, Woodrow and Eunice Edwards.
