George Lee Guidry, Sr

George Lee Guidry, Sr., 86, of Orange, Texas died July 9, 2009, at The Meadows in Orange.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange with Reverend Joseph P. Daleo officiating.

Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.

George was born May 14, 1923, in Madisonville, Louisiana. He was the son of Joseph Valery Guidry and Lucille LeBlanc Guidry. He worked for Firestone as a welder for 20 years and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was very devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Anna Guidry; and four sisters.

He is survived by son, George Lee Guidry, Jr. and his wife Linda of Crystal Beach; daughter, Mary Beth Derouen and her husband Gary of Orange; grandchildren, Lisa and Jason Lingo of Seabrook, Jerry and Mary Ann Guidry of Wimberly, Scott and Kellie Derouen of Orange, Steve and Carla Derouen of Groves; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Joseph Guidry of Georgia.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scott Derouen, Steve Derouen, Jerry Guidry, Tyler Derouen, Blake Guidry and Jason Lingo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Mayfield, Easton Lingo and Evan Lingo.

Mary Beth, Buddy Boy and Family: I was so sorry to hear that Lee passed away. I just spoke to Jimmy and Emily a couple of days ago at church and they said he was doing ok. He enjoyed the Broussard gathering a few days before. I was in Seabrook ##imported-begin##Billie Cody Barnett##imported-end##
