Gerald Arthur McCullough

1958 ∼ 2020

Gerald “Jerry” Arthur McCullough, age 61, passed away peacefully March 28th in Beaumont, TX due to a long-time battle with cancer. He was born October 27, 1958 in Lewiston, Idaho and grew up on a farm near Troy, Idaho.

Jerry loved the outdoors and there wasn’t a frog, snake or grasshopper safe from his fast reflexes. He loved fishing and could often be found at a local fishing pond near the farm where he grew up.

He played both football and basketball at Troy High School, graduating with the class of 1977. He continued playing recreational sports throughout the time he lived in the Northwest.

Jerry had a variety of jobs throughout his life and for the last 5 years he was a Security Guard at the Stiles Unit of Texas Prison in Beaumont, Texas.

Jerry is survived by his companion Debbie Parker of Beaumont TX, brother Ron McCullough (Dana) of Nashville, TN, sister Diane Daniels (Randy) of Colfax, WA, son Joshua McCullough (Jamie) of Moscow, ID, daughter Alicia McCullough of Henderson, NV, and 2 grandchildren, Alex and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Esther McCullough and his companion of 20 years, Cindy Harper.

A private family memorial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse, WA at a later date.

I remember having so much fun in the summer when we would go to visit my aunt Esther, Uncle Claude and cousins Ron, Diane and Jerry on their farm in Troy, Idaho. Jerry, Diane, my sister Lori and I were quite the "four some" as we played from sunup to, as late as our parents would let us, after the sun went down. Yes, it is true, Jerry loved chasing us girls with frogs, grasshoppers or garter snakes. There were times we put together a Gospel song to sing for a shut in or two who were friends of our Aunt Esther. While it's been sad over the years to be out of touch, it was with exhilaration that I read Jerry's face book posting a few months ago expressing such joy in renewing his faith in the Lord and experiencing tremendous peace. I truly believe Jerry is having a wonderful time exploring Heaven with his mom and dad and others; maybe finding a good fishing hole! I love you Jerry. You were always one of my favorite cousins and I'm thankful you are out of pain and suffering. We will meet again and what a day that will be! Debbie Dueck
