Geraldine Simon

Geraldine "Gerry" Simon, 76, of Orange, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at DuBuis Hospital in Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange, with the Reverend Joseph Daleo, serving as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited by the Legion of Mary at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, also at the funeral home.

Born in Port Arthur on July 27, 1934, she was the daughter of August and Marie Eunice Chiasson Lalonde.

Gerry was a homemaker and reared six children. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange where she was also a member of the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society.

Preceded in death by her parents, August and Eunice Lalonde and husbands, Eliate John Badeaux and Whitney Simon, Gerry is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley and Danney Borel of Orange, Phyllis and Michael McGrew of Groves, Rosalind Casey of Orange, Marilyn and Charles Hickey of Mauriceville, Joyce and Glen McCormick of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debra Badeaux of Crossville, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and her long time friend and companion, Wilfred LeLeux of Bridge City.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Carter, Andy Borel, Eric Borel, Larry Badeaux, Brian Simon and Robert Clark.
