Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson, 87, was born March 31, 1926 in Oakdale, LA to Wilburn and Mamie (Riley) Johnson and passed away February 18, 2014 in Silsbee, TX. Mr. Johnson was a resident of Beaumont prior to relocating to Kountze in 2002. He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Mobil Oil in 1983 as an electrician with 33 years of service.

Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Nancy Ratchford, will take place at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 21 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery on Hwy 90 West, China, TX. A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, February 20 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, Terry Johnson Sr. and wife, Lyna of Silsbee and his grandson, T. J. Johnson of Kountze; step-grandson, Gerald Wright Jr. and wife, Lisa and step-grandson, Jason Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, J.W. Johnson.

I worked at Walgreens in Lumberton for years and Uncle Glen would always come in looking for me. We would have to go get his Blue Bell ice cream and Dr. Pepper. He would tell me thats what has kept him alive all of these years.
