Dianne Comte

1947 ∼ 2026

Gloria Dianne Comte, a beloved homemaker and devoted member of her community, passed gently into the loving arms of Jesus on February 18, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on September 12, 1947, in Beaumont, Dianne was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on her family, friends, and faith community.

Dianne was married to her loving husband, Thomas Comte, for an extraordinary 58 years and 9 months. Together, they built a life filled with deep love and shared values. Dianne was the proud mother of four daughters, Anita Dickens and her husband James, Stephanie Cox and her husband Douglas, Rachel Rivers and her husband Daniel, and Crystal Comte. Her heart swelled with joy as she embraced the role of grandmother. Cherishing each moment spent with her grandchildren: Aubrey, Natalie, Landon, Caleb and wife Faithann, Shayla, Jaelyn, Noelle, and Naomi. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Stella Cox.

Dianne's passion for her faith was evident in her dedicated involvement at Calvary Tabernacle, formerly Lamar Pentecostal Church, where she served for over fifty years. Her commitment to the church manifested through various roles, including teaching Sunday school, serving as choir director and youth leader, being an outreach minister, and participating in nursing home ministry. Her gift of music accompanied her faith; she played the accordion during services and was known for her beautiful voice as a praise and worship soloist. Described as a "Soul Winner," Dianne loved reaching out to others, sharing a message of hope and compassion.

A graduate of high school, Dianne briefly attended Lamar College before marrying, and though her career path largely centered on her family, she also contributed to her community by substitute teaching and working for the Beaumont Independent School District. Dianne's warmth and sincere interest in people meant she never met a stranger. She was deeply loved and revered by many.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband, their four daughters, and an adoring cadre of grandchildren, alongside her sisters, Norma Broussard and her husband Gary, and Darlene Koch, and her brother, Mark Church. The family will carry forward her legacy of love, faith, and kindness, remembering her as a guiding light in their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mary Gloria Church, as well as her in-laws, Lee and Dorothy Comte.

The family invites all who knew and loved Dianne to pay their respects during the visitation at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Service in Beaumont on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Gospel Tabernacle 7880 Washington Blvd, Beaumont, TX 77707, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 2:30 P.M at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.

In her gentle and loving spirit, Dianne leaves behind a legacy woven into the lives of her family and community. Though she may have departed from this earth, her impact and the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of many forever.

I remember Dianne as a true friend who showed great love and tremendous faith. She lived what she believed and had a true servants heart. She never faulted in helping anyone any way she could. I am so blessed to call her my friend for over 50 years. She has ran her race and ran it well. Now in the arms of Jesus she can hear,” well done they good and faithful servant. “

Anything Sis. Diane did for the Lord was anointed whether it was praying, witnessing, teaching, singing, or playing her accordion. She loved souls and never wanted to offend anyone. She was in-tune with the Spirit and always knew when you needed a word of encouragement or prayer. She never spoke an unkind word and if she thought she did, she quickly apologized. Sis. Dianne loved God and people and didn’t want to miss heaven for anything. She was a beautiful humble soul who always looked for an opportunity to win a soul to Christ. She is missed, but we rejoice she has received her reward and is at peace in the loving arms of Jesus. One day, we hope to see you again.

Sis. Dianne was my Sunday school teacher the first time I met her when I moved to Beaumont in 1986! I went on many Saturday morning visitations with her and her girls monthly bbqs, exercise classes, choir, alter call many tongues interpretations she was what they call now a days a highly sensitive person and she had gifts she walked in to whom some would call crazy but I witnessed a woman who practiced what she preached and was loyal and faithful and loving and I am sorry I didn't get to see her when I had the chance in the last few months l,life is way too short but the reward which she seeks should be her enlightening path as I type this! I send my love, prayers and memories of Sis Dianne to her girls, my beautiful friends and Brother Thomas and the Aunts and Uncle! Lord bless you, and how many of you reading cried reading Pastor Billy Stanley's remarks?! Fly high with the angels sister because you were and Angel on Earth already!

My mom, Gerline Spears, was sad to hear of Sis. Comte passing. Once I shared the news with her, she sat down with me and explained how my dad, Elmer Spears loved the whole family. Mom spoke highly of Sis Comte and said she was always a Christian first. I knew Sis Comte’s daughters. Everyone of them were and are beautiful outwardly but they are all just as beautiful inwardly. This world is a better place because of her love for Christ. Mom and I will not say goodbye but rather we say we will see you soon. With much love - Gerline Spears and Kathie Treadway

She lived a life dedicated to serving God and others. I remember going to her house when I was little and always feeling a calm, gentle spirit about her. Even as a child, you could sense her kindness. She didn’t have to be loud or seen — her love, patience, and faith spoke for her. She carried a peace that made you feel safe and welcomed every time you were around her. She was a true example of a God-fearing woman. Not just in words, but in the way she treated people, the way she loved, and the quiet grace she walked in daily. While our hearts are sad here, her family and friends have comfort knowing she is now resting in the presence of our precious Lord.  Thank you for the memories, the warmth, and the example you left behind. Your gentle spirit will never be forgotten.

To the family I wish to say that I will always cherish the 35 years that God allowed me to be Sister Dianne’s pastor. She was a soul winner that hardly ever came to church without a visitor sitting beside her. She was my go to if the service seem to be dragging. When her melodies voice begin to ring out there would be a total change in the entire service. She was truly blessed and anointed of the Lord. I loved being her pastor. I will always remember her and look forward joining her as we sing together once more in heaven’s choir. I am praying that God will give the family comfort and peace for days to come. Blessings to you!
