Hattie Lee Garner

Hattie Lee Garner, 92 of Beaumont died April 19, 2009, at home, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Bond, Mississippi, Hattie came to Texas, married Earl Garner and raised their children in Louisiana until 1962 when they moved to Texas.

She was preceded in death by her her husband of 62 years and her siblings.

Hattie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Ben Travis of Hayes, Florida, Sandra and Bob Bearb of Beaumont; four grandsons, Steven Key, John Key, Lowell Thompson, Lloyd Thompson; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her heart was full of generosity and much love for her family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I've a lot of fond memories of Mrs. Garner. Just yesterday I thought of her when I saw shutters at Lowe's.
