Hazel Bergeron

Hazel Bergeron, 87, of Orange, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Jeff Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Fisher, Louisiana on June 4, 1923, Mrs. Bergeron was the daughter of Mary A. Mercica and Shorty Eli Slaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and one son.

Mrs. Bergeron is survived by her sons, Clyde Richardson of Orange, C.E. Richardson of Nederland; son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Keturah Villarreal of Deweyville; son, Robert Villarreal of Bridge City; daughter, Yolanda Lockwood of Nederland; daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Dennis Foreman of Orange and Cynthia and Mike Hagan of Orange.

She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Mott of Orange and Jessie Thornton of Pasadena.

The Bergeron family would like to thank Southeast Texas Hospice and Dr. Micha Amsden for the care given to Mrs. Bergeron during her final days.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Shelton Crochet, Ronnie Slaughter, Bosco Slaughter, Jack Eubanks, Charlie Devore and Michael Hernandez.
