Herman Lee Granger

Hermann Lee Granger, 61, of Brackettville, Texas and Vinton, Louisiana, died Thursday, February 28, 2008, at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton, with Father Susil Fernando serving as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home.

Born in Orange on September 28, 1946, he was the son of Herman Ruth Granger and Mary Louise Nezat Granger.

Mr. Granger was a member of Plumbers Local 504 and 68 for 38 years and was the co-owner, for 17 years, of Plumbing Specialties in Beaumont.

Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to their ranch, the H&A Granger Ranch, in Brackettville, where he fulfilled his life long dream of being a rancher.

Preceded in death by his parents, Herman Ruth Granger and Mary "Blackie" Granger, and son, Herman Lee Granger, Jr., Mr. Granger is survived by his wife, Angela Granger of Brackettville and Vinton; children and their spouses, Monica and Donny Stinson of Vinton, Sanders and Angela Granger of Lake Charles, and Terri and Wade O'Quain of Sulphur.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Donovan Stinson, Amy Bickham, Andy Granger, Dylan O'Quain; great grandchildren, Keelynd Stinson, Myles Bickham, Kynslee Stinson; and sisters, and brothers, Mary Louvier, Patricia Edwards, Diane Falcon, Edward Granger, Alvin Granger and Barbara Hebert.

Pallbearers will be Donovan Stinson, Andy Granger, Ronnie Palmer, Roger Hudson, James Smith, and Edward Granger.
