Hubert "Sarge" Irvine, 85, of Kountze, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2020, in Kountze, Texas.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Trinity Valley Cemetery in Kountze.

Born in Honey Island, Texas on June 1, 1935, he was the son of Houston and Artelia Irvine. Hubert worked for Silsbee Icehouse and was a general laborer for many years. He was known for being a friend to all and he enjoyed giving everyone a hard time. He was a strong, stubborn, and very independent man who loved his family dearly. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Artelia Irvine; his wife, Mercy Lee Irvine; and his siblings, Norris Irvine, Edward Irvine, and Pauline McCray.

He is survived by his children, Hubert Irvine Jr., Sandy Irvine, Lee Irvine, and Jacqueline Barlow; siblings, Joyce Irvine, Sheila Cade, and Elester Whitmore Sr., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but only one special grandchild: Treyveon Irvine.
