Funeral services for Ima Grace Blackburn, 89, of The Woodlands and formerly a long time resident of Beaumont, will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Claybar Kelly-Watkins Chapel with Reverend Jack McKinney, Chaplain-Odessey Hospice of Conroe, TX officiating. Internment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon, prior to the service.

Mrs. Blackburn was born February 15, 1921 in Orange, Texas to Ernest Sanford and O'De McCorkle Warren, and died March 5, 2010 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was an accomplished artist and realtor who always put caring for her family at the top of her activities. She had resided in The Woodlands to be near her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Sue Mather and husband, Greg of The Woodlands; her son, Earl Wayne Blackburn and wife, Barbara of Houston; sister and brother-in-law Judy Mae and Leo Carlton Carr; four grandchildren and spouses, Melinda and Doug Adams, John and Kim Blackburn, Kathy Blackburn-Thames and her husband Adam, David and Jackie Blackburn; eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Calah, Krystal, Kaylene, Bailey, Madison, Courtney and Jessica; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reuben W. Blackburn; grandson, Troy Michael Hamilton; and brother Ernest Sanford Warren Jr.

Becky Bruce and I were so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Ima Grace was a wonderful lady and someone we always admired. She was so kind to me especialy when Bruce and I married.
