Funeral services for Irene G. Carr, 99, of Wildwood, Texas will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Carr was born October 5, 1918 in Many, Louisiana to the late, Wesley and Ester (Stoker) Greer and passed away February 2, 2018 in Vidor, Texas.
She worked hard and retired as a welder from Bethlehem Steel at the age of 68. She loved everyone! She enjoyed working in her yard, fishing, shrimping, and cooking for her family and friends. No one ever left her house hungry!
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Joyce and Bill Kerl of Kountze; sons, J.C. Carr Jr. and wife, Diane, of Vidor, Jerry Turner of California; daughter-in-love, Norma Cobbs of Beaumont; grandchildren, James Carr III, Betty Sala, Billy Cobbs, Linda Faye Riggs, Sean Turner, Patricia Turner, Melissa Turner, Adriana Roque; and a host of great grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Carr Sr., sons, James M. Carr, Billy Ray Cobbs; and granddaughter, Wendy Roque.
