I was a law clerk for Judge Brookshire at the 9th District Court of Appeals for a year and a half in 1988-89. The work was hard but rewarding; my first experience as an attorney after admission to the Texas Bar. I particularly enjoyed being regailed with all his stories of his work in political campaigns in a unique time now gone forever; I will always cherish them. He knew Jesus as His Saviour, and I enjoyed his perspectives on Scripture. I had moved to California in 1994, with my family, and I lost track of him after he left the Court of Appeals. It turns out that Judge Brookshire passed just two weeks after my own mother passed, which was the last time I was in S.E. Texas. I hope and expect to meet him in Heaven, and look forward to sharing stories with him again. I just now discovered this obituary, and I am sorry this message was only left with his obit page now. God bless you , Judge B, we shall meet again. Regards and blessings, Floyd J. Fernandez Valencia, California
