Jake Wallace, Jr.

Jake Wallace, Jr., 59 of Bridge City passed away March 10, 2011 in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Delphyn Meeks of St. Maurice Catholic Church.

A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wallace was born December 3, 1951 in Orangefield. He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a part of the 82nd Airborne. After being discharged from the military he worked in the oil field and afterwards he joined the Steel Workers Union where he was a member for 34 years. Mr. Jake Wallace was an honest, hard-working, kind hearted, proud man. He was a cowboy at heart and rode bulls in rodeos. He enjoyed watching wrestling, the news, especially Glenn Beck and Rachel Ray and Emerald on the Food Network Channel. Most of all he was a wonderful husband, daddy and grandpa who loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jake Walles, Sr. and Alma Walles. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tina Buford Wallace of Bridge City; children, Mandy Fregia-Smart of Beaumont, Ricky Garza of Bridge City and Lacey Agerton and husband, Vito of Vidor and grandchildren, Trenton Garza and Laila Agerton. Jake is loved by all who knew him and will be forever missed.
