Dad was the kind of man that everyone that ever knew him knew that he never had anything bad to say about anyone. And he was always the first to offer to help where needed, even when he was hiding pain that he chose not to show. I learned a lot from him and absolutely enjoyed every minute we spent together. He could fix anything, including putting back together guns for those who started, then knew they were lost! (Including me a time or two) He and I were blessed to take company trips for the company I worked for at the time, we got to meet the drivers and pit crews at the Daytona 500, and he and I even celebrated his 65th birthday in Las Vegas. He was the king of blackjack! I don't know how many miles he and I walked through gun shows all over the state, but it was a lot. He put my son Connor on his first deer, and even though he was too sick to clean it, he patiently walked Connor and I step by step until we were done. Whenever I couldn't figure something out, he was my go to guy, and always came up with a solution. I called him dad and he called me son for the better part of two decades, and he was always there when I needed him. He even took off an entire week at work to stay at the hospital with me in Houston for my final surgery, and his view was not pretty, but he never complained, not once. He is now with his mom, dad and other family and friends in Heaven looking down, smiling and wondering why my tears won;t stop. He knows I'll see him again, but until then, I will miss him.

James and I worked together for many, many years. He was always a pleasure to be around. James was one of the most knowledgeable machinist I ever worked with. He was our "GO TO GUY " for machining advise. At ICORP we all missed James after he retired. It saddens my heart to hear of James passing. He will be dearly missed. Jerald Joshlin
Lavern Ewing October 8, 2019
James Earl was like a brother to Eugene and me. He was always quick to come at a moments notice any time we called. I remember the early years when we all hunted together. Sunday dinner in Hull at the Ewings, the birth of our children, weddings, birthdays and holidays. We spent many Christmas Days at our home with the Ewing family and James and Bonnie were always there. James and Bonnie were with me five months ago when I lost the love of my life and I will be there for Bonnie and the girls.I know God had a plan for James. James lived a long and happy life and now he is enjoying his reward with those who have gone before us. Happy trails my brother as you fly high with the angels. You will be dearly missed. LaVern.
