James Mike Griffin

James "Jim" Mike Griffin, 72, of Orange, died Friday, July 25, 2008 in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Danny Gillam.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home.

Jim was born on September 19, 1935, in Sour Lake, Texas. He was the son of Lee and Lena Hutcherson Griffin. He was baptized at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Sour Lake. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Griffin was also retired from Firestone Polymer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lena Griffin; grandson, Jacob Paul Griffin; and brother, A.A. Curlee Griffin.

Survivors included his wife of 48 years, Loretta Anne Bilbo Griffin; children, James Andy Griffin, Sr. and wife Simmye, Cindy Griffin Burks and husband Buddy, and Carol Griffin Lopez and husband Roger; grandchildren, Andrew Griffin, Jamie Leigh Burks, Kyle Lopez, Rebecca Griffin, Shelby Dyan Burks, and Marlee Nicole Lopez; great-grandchildren, Cade and Conner Griffin; brothers, Frank Griffin, Fred Griffin, and Johnny Griffin; sister, Margie Morgan; brother-in-law, Lannie Bilbo and wife Kay; and sister-in-law, Nelda Young and husband Bill.

Serving as pallbearers are Lannie Bilbo, Rodney Bilbo, Buddy Burks, Andrew Griffin, Jr., Roger Lopez, Jr., and Kyle Lopez.

Honorary pallbearer is Buddy Campbell.
