James T. Ballard

James T. Ballard, 72, was born August 31, 1939 in Marshall, TX to Ruben Ballard and Gussie Mae Flowers and passed away August 25, 2012 in Houston, TX. James was a US Navy veteran and also was employed with the Merchant Marine as a seaman for Sabine Towing Company. James was a long time member of Beaumont prior to moving to Lumberton in 2005.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 31, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Scott Newell, with interment following at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, August 30, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

James is survived by his daughters; Danette Ballard of Beaumont, Katherine Thibodeaux and husband, Joey, of Lumberton and Carrie Ballard of Lumberton; two granddaughters, Athena and Victoria and a great-grandson, Peyton; sister, Patsy Luckey and brothers Bennie and Jerry Ballard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana D. Laughlin Ballard; his parents; brother, Robert and sisters, Carolyn and Betty.
