Jean Simar

Jean Simar, 78, of Orange, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Nederland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Orange with Father Joseph P. Daleo, officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Port Arthur on August 20, 1932, Jean was the daughter of Thomas A. and Maude Hebert Walsh. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and St. Mary?s Altar Society. Jean retired as a payroll clerk from West Orange-Cove CISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband, Marvin Simar.

Jean is survived by her children, Paul Simar and his wife, Cindy of Austin, Gina Simar of Orange, James Simar and Tammy Stark of Orange; mother-in-law, Odette Simar of Orange; grandchildren, Jessica Worrel and her husband, David of Denver, Colorado and Jennifer Simar of Austin.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Promise Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Jean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary?s School Foundation, 912 W. Cherry Avenue, Orange, Texas 77630.

Gina.James,Paul and family Your mother Jean meant the world to me. We have had many good times going places. She was so much fun.
