Jeanette Faye Scales Bullion

Jeanette Faye Scales Bullion, 74, of Orangefield, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Orangefield under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with Reverend Forrest Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday at the church.

Born in Orange, Texas on June 23, 1935, Jeanette was the daughter of A.A. and Katie Burke Scales.

Jeanette was a very active member of First Baptist Church Orangefield where she taught Sunday School. She loved singing in the choir and sometimes sang specials. She also sang in a quartet at nursing homes and loved gospel music.

Jeanette loved organizing family gatherings and was especially skilled at interior decorating and designing. She helped feed the homeless and did silver box presentations at nursing homes and churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nelda Evans; brother, Clyde Scales, Sr.; and sister, Margaret Pug Granger. Jeanette is survived by her husband, R.J. Bullion of Orangefield; sons, Rickey Sheppard and his wife, Denise of Orangefield, Rod Sheppard and his wife, Mary Ann of Orangefield and Todd Sheppard and his wife, Cisca of Nederland; step-daughters, Rhonda Lyn Longmire and her husband, Roger of Orange, Susan Manley of Dallas, and Tina Frasier of Port Neches; and step-son, Edgar Paul Bullion and his wife, Sharon of Trinity.

Jeanette is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Sarah, Brittany, Wyntter, Michelle and Bryan; step-grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband, Justin, Jamie and her husband, Matt, Bryan, Chase, Reanna, Alana, Kali, Paul and Jennifer; eight great grandchildren; sister, Doris Peveto; twin sister, Geneva Mansel; brother, Franklin Scales, Sr. and his wife, Sarah; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Rocky Granger, Ronny Evans, Bryan Sheppard, Scott Sheppard, Benny Peveto, Edward Scales and Jay Ware. Honorary Pallbearer will be Roger Longmire.

I share my Memaw's middle name and I'm very proud of it. I lost my 1st tooth at her house, ripped my newly pierced earring out while helping her with VBS, stepped on a toothpick running through her house, and many more memories. As I found out Memaw was going into surgery I turned on my car and Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood was playing and when I drove into the parking garage of the hospital later that day and I found out the cancer spread the song was on again, but this is ##imported-begin##Michelle Faye Sheppard##imported-end##
