Jeannette Griffith

Jeannette Griffith, 83, of Bridge City, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at The Meadows.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Iowa, Louisia

na on April 5, 1926, she was the daughter of Oscar and Edna Breaux.

Jeannette was a long time resident of the area, a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City and had worked as an associate at Wal Mart in Bridge City.

Preceded in death by her husband, Alva J. Griffith, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Edna and Pete Jorgensen of Bridge City; granddaughter, Robyn Lusignan Newburn and her husband, Michael, of Houston; sister, Thelma Kolasci and her husband, Paul, of Bryan; brother, Moody Breaux and his wife, Judy, of Orange and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Preston Fuller, Phillip Fuller, Ronnie Burton, R.L. Burton, E.J. McKay, Jay Breaux, Robert Breaux and Calvin Wade.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jeannette's brother, Moody Breaux.

The family would like to express their appreciation to The Meadows and Odyssey Hospice for the love and care given to Jeannette.

Also, we wish to thank Sue Bellard for the many hours she spent with her Aunt Jeannette, giving of her time and unconditional love. We love you!
