Obituary

Jeannie Aiken Hunter, a cherished member of her community and a beloved matriarch, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Lumberton, Texas. Born on March 18, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas, Jeannie was well known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering faith.

Throughout her professional life, Jeannie dedicated many years of her career to the Houston Petro Chemical as an Insurance Secretary. Her commitment to excellence and her attention to detail earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Jeannie had an indomitable personality, characterized by her love for gardening and her remarkable green thumb, which brought beauty to her home and joy to those around her. She shared numerous adventures traveling with her husband, Charles H. Hunter, and participating in car competitions through his various clubs. Jeannie was affectionately known as "Mee Mee" to her family, a title that reflects the deep affection and admiration her loved ones held for her. Her strong Christian faith was the foundation upon which she built her life, guiding her in her relationships and daily pursuits.

Jeannie is survived by her grandchildren: Amanda Foley (Ray Richards), Ryan O'Quinn (Kaitlyn), and Cory Young. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Natalie Richards, Madilynne Richards, Cheyenne O'Quinn, and Cate O'Quinn. Her loving nature and warm spirit touched the lives of numerous other family members and friends who were fortunate to have known her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arial and Claudine Aiken; her husband, Charles H. Hunter; and her children, Gary Young and Gayle Foley. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A graveside service to honor Jeannie's life will be held on December 12, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas, beginning at 2:30 PM.

Jeannie Aiken Hunter's legacy of love, faith, and passion for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted family member and a steadfast friend.
