Jerry ?Wayne? Franklin, Jr., 40, of Winnie, native of Bridge City passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Winnie Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City with Reverend Bob Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in Hemphill on August 29, 1970, Wayne was the son of Jerry Wayne Franklin, Sr. and Donna DuBose Franklin. He was a member of the Orange Masonic Lodge, worked as a police officer, which was his passion for 20 years. Wayne was very compassionate in his professional and personal life.

Preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandparents, Wayne is survived by his wife, Christina Franklin; parents, Jerry and Donna Franklin of Bridge City; and son, Jerry Wayne Matthew Franklin of Minnesota. He is also survived by his grandson, Alex Franklin; brother, Michael DeWayne Franklin of Bridge City; aunt and uncle, Terri Denise and Donald Sonnier; uncle, Jerry ?Butch? DuBose; numerous aunts and uncles; and nephews, Kade and Kooper Franklin.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Matt Bulls, Chad Collins, Justin McCullough, Brian Foley, Duane Whittington, Chuck Cobb, Kevin Foley and Kyle Smith.
