Jesse Dans

Jesse Dans, 82, of Orange, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Deweyville. Officiating will be Reverend Damon Bickham.

Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Deweyville.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday at the church.

Jesse was born on January 5, 1927 in Sabine Parish, LA. He was the son of William Jackson and Elzada Davis Dans. He retired from Atlantic Richfield Oil and Gas as a gauger. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elzada Dans; Junior Dans, Ronnie Dans, Linda Dans, and Leo Dans.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise Grappe Dans; children, Steven Dans and wife, Joyce of West Monroe, LA, Phillip Dans of Deweyville, Jay Dans of West Monroe, LA, Dennis Dans and wife, Michael of Deweyville, Kelly Dans of West Monroe, LA, Brian Dans and wife, Mory of Deweyville, Darryl Dans and wife, Kimberlie of Deweyville, and Julie Guidry and husband, Wayne of Orange; grandchildren, Nathan, Cristal, Rebekah, Lucretia, Cody, Jesse, Rachel, Jessica, Amanda, Lacey, Kendall, Kenneth, Katie, Dannielle, Madison, Morgan, Mackenzi, Dylan, Zachary, Sydney, and Roman; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Layne, Slaydon, Robby, Cameron, Holden, Gaven, Ariel, and one on the way; and brothers and sisters, Irma Rachel and husband, Wilford of Shreveport, Thurman Dans and wife, Joyce of Buna, Floyd Dans and wife, Bonnie of Marthaville, LA, and Barbara Lee Smith and husband, Carl of Charleston, WV.

Serving as pallbearers are Steven Dans, Phillip Dans, Jay Dans, Dennis Dans, Kelly Dans, and Brian Dans.
