Jessica Leanne Hurt, 21, died Saturday June 13, 2009, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Danny Gilliam of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange.

Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 pm Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Jessica was born on August 4, 1987, in Gainesville, Texas. She was the daughter of Randell and Deborah Miller Hurt. Jessica was a kind and caring person who enjoyed her independence. She loved to laugh and make others laugh.

She was preceded in death by her paternal father, Randell Hurt.

Survivors include her parents, Debby and James Schamber of Bridge City; maternal grandparents, Vicki Miller of Roeland Park, Kansas and Karl Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Jason Hurt, Joshua Schamber and Jordan Schamber; fiancée, Jason Reneber; and best friend, Brandy Diaz.

I did not know Jessica, but heard her story and my heart is broken. I too had a very bad gallbladder which required surgery. I regret that I did not have a close knit relationship with Jessica since she is my first cousin. Unfortunately I never had the oppurtunity to get to know her or get to see the beautiful person that she was.
