Jim Wells, 56, of Beaumont, passed away on August 18, 2018, at Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be 3:00pm with a visitation from 2:00pm-3:00pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on August 31, 1961, he was the son of Gene Wells and Sue (Walker) Wells. Jim followed in his father’s and many other family members footsteps and was a stage hand with the Local I.A.T.S.E 183. As a stagehand he worked all over Southeast Texas during many productions but he worked most often with the Julie Rogers Theater in Beaumont. Jim loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and his dog, Sophie most of all. He spent many years coaching his kids as well as his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing pool and rode motorcycles in his free time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Gene Wells and wife, Leean Wells.

Jim is survived by his spouse, Mary Maddox; children, Deborah Moore, Dana Marshburn and Jonathan Wells; grandchildren; Jace Wells and Lillyanna Moore; brother, John Wells; sister, Angela Devers.
