Jimmie Ray Sterns

Jimmie Ray "Bud" Sterns died Thursday night, February 5, 2009 at his home in Bridge City.

The only son of D.Q. Quincy Sterns and Lessie Mayes Sterns, he was born November 24, 1936, in Grayson, Louisiana. Mr. Sterns was a draftsman and owned J.R. Sterns Drafting Service in Bridge City.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Kenneth Lewis of Illinois.

The family will receive visitors and friends from 4:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home.

Bud is preceded in death by his father, and two-step daughters.

He is survived by his mother, Lessie Mayes Sterns of Bridge City and daughter, Chrystal Sterns of Bridge City and her mother, Carole Sterns of Groves; sisters, Billie Downey and Jan Leonard of Bridge City, Jo Voight of Nederland, and Judy Escagne of Groves; numerous nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Justin Richoux and Lucky Bruce.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Leonard, Justin Richoux, Allen Escagne, Jr., Allen "Bubba" Escagne III, Shawn Quincy Escagne, and Keith Downey.
