Jimmy W. Goins, 67, of Vidor peacefully stepped into the presence of his heavenly father on Friday, June 15, 2007 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston.

The celebration of his life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Vidor with burial following in Trout Creek Cemetery in Kirbyville.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Mr. Goins was born June 4, 1940 in Kirbyville to Jimmie M. and Euna L. Odom Goins.

He was a longtime resident of Vidor and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He retired as a maintenance mechanic from Inland Container in Orange. Mr. Goins was well known around town as a very friendly and kind person who loved having coffee at several different meeting places around Vidor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor and The National Rifle Association.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ada Goins of Vidor; children, Greg Goins of Lumberton, Kelly Goins Anderson and husband John of Sam Rayburn, Kandra Goins Davis and husband Ron of Vidor, and Rodney Goins and wife Janea also of Vidor; twelve grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Maureen Glendinning and husband Rioh P. of Vidor. Mr. Goins leaves behind many, many special friends and a large family that loved him dearly.
