Joan Gage Lucas, 86, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas. 

Born in Cushing, Texas, on August 8, 1937, she was the daughter of Jesse Oswald Gage and Cloy Eudora Tobias Gage. Joan deeply loved animals, especially dogs, and found comfort in their companionship. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, building puzzles, and embarking on memorable journeys to the Holy Land. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who love her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, LeRoy W. Lucas; her parents, Jesse Oswald Gage and Cloy Eudora Gage; her daughter, LuAnn Lucas Shipes; and her nephew, Thomas Mitchell Robbins. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dan Lucas and wife, Sharon; her grandchildren, Tessa Parish and husband, Ryan, and Chloe Lucas; her sister, Jesslyn Gage Mayfield; her nephew, J. Robbins; and her nieces, Donna Gautreaux and Diana Lindstrom.
