John â??Johnnyâ? Marvin Day

John "Johnny" Marvin Day, 78, of Orange, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont on April 8, 1932, Johnny was the son of Buford Edward Day and Vera Louise Goode Day. Johnny served in the U.S. Air Force and was a teacher and coach for 35 years at Orangefield ISD and other schools in the area.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Linda Shannon Day of Mauriceville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and LeAnn Day of Mauriceville, Brian and Regina Day of Menard, Pat and Joy Day of Mauriceville, and Joe and Dana Day of Mauriceville.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Baylee Daigle, Whitney Day, Kacie Baker, Lindi, Wade and Alan Day, Monica Dodge and Candi Spell; great-grandchildren, Rylee Freeman, Brittany Middleton, Jace Daigle, Jaxon Daigle, Aadi and Gracie Day, Kenlee Putnam and Tinsley Baker; brothers, Patrick, Lynn and Kenneth Day; and sisters, Sue Ann Armstrong and Barbara Jean May.

A wonderful man that will be missed. Although the years have passed, one never forgets a kind person and Coach Day was definitely a kind person. My condolences to the Day family. Coach Day was my driver's ed teacher. Each time I take the 16th st. exit I think of him telling me that I did it just how it should be done.
