John Wilson Summers, 49, of Orange, died December 27, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Gerald Ratcliff.

John was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 31, 1959, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Joyce Laverne Floyd Summers.

Preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Joyce Summers; and brothers, Darrell Summers and Bruce Summers, John is survived by his sons, James Eric Summers of Orange, Aaron Matthew Summers of Lumberton; step son, Christopher Steele of Orange and grandchildren, Jacob King and Natalie Summers.

Also surviving are his sisters, Darlene Price of Henderson, Kentucky, Susan Goodman of Owensboro, Kentucky; brother, Steven Summers of Henderson, Kentucky; nephews and nieces, Brandon Summers, Earl King, Nicholas Summers, Thomas Summers, Crystal Roberts, and Breanna Price.

John is also survived by his former wives and close friends, Carla Yust and Dorothy Summers; former mother-in-law, Joy Steel; and sister-in-law, Sara Peterson.
