Joseph V. Hughes, 73, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on December 4, 2020, in Beaumont.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 22, 1947, he was the son of Joseph F. Hughes and Mary Lee (Schaver) Hughes. Joseph was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the war with Vietnam.

Joseph worked as an Instrument Technician in the oil industry. He also worked as a “shade tree” mechanic and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was full of, as he called it, useless trivia. Joseph was there whenever anyone needed help. Joseph loved the Lord with his whole being and now he has returned to His side in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Hughes; wife, Kathy (Spears) Hughes; and his son Brent Hughes.

He is survived by his children, Jody Hughes and his wife Rebecca, Kirk Hughes, and Lori Ward; granddaughters, Zora Hughes, Jourdan Manley and Gentry Manley; and his sister, Barbara Perez.
