Joseph William Hart

Joseph William Hart, 89, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Port Arthur, TX. He was born July 24, 1923 in Beaumont to Richard Eli and Velma Burdett Hart. Mr. Hart retired from Transit Mix concrete.

A celebration of Mr. Hart's life is scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends to be held Friday, February 8 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Mr. Hart was a Veteran of WWII and served in the Army in the Pacific Theater. He took great pride in knowing that he served his country and his family continues his legacy with many more serving in the Armed Forces of the United States. Mr. Hart was also a member of the Order of Masons and Grayburg Baptist Church.

Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hart, 1 brother and 3 sisters and daughter-in-law, Judy Hart. He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Wilson and her husband, Everette, of Port Neches and Sandra Motte and her husband, Glenn, of Vidor; sons, Richard Hart of El Dorado, Arkansas and Gerry Hart and his wife, Maizie, of Galveston; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
