Josephine Patronella Lilyquist

Josephine Patronella Lilyquist, 84, of Orange passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday May 21, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph P. Daleo officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lilyquist was born December 15, 1926 in Orange to Sam and Rose Gambino Patronella. She lived in Orange until she met and married the love of her life, Karl A. Lilyquist. After living in Wisconsin for a short number of years, she and her family moved back to Orange where they raised their six children. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she also attended school as a child. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was full of love and shared it with everyone she knew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Rose Patronella; husband of 54 years, Karl A. Lilyquist, Sr.; brothers, Peter and Joe Patronella; and sisters, Marie Patronella, Patricia Vito and Antoynette Young.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rose Hilson and husband, Aaron of Camden, AR; sons, Dan Lilyquist and wife, Pam, Karl A. Lilyquist, Jr., and Sam Lilyquist and wife, Mary Diane all of Orange; and daughters, Susan Nester and husband, Stephen of Rio Rancho, NM and Lisa Prejean and husband, James of Orange. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; brother, John Patronella and wife, Linda; and sister, Lucy Sciarillo all of Orange.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Shawn Hilson, Sam Hilson, Dan Lilyquist, Jr., Jason Lilyquist, Stephen Nester, Jr., Chase Lilyquist, Ryan Cox and Rusty Rueda. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Lilyquist, Kelly Lilyquist, Shane Hilson and Dylan Prejean.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and aides of Southeast Texas Hospice for their love, support and care they all showed their mother during this difficult time.
