Joyce Hoffpauir Viator

Joyce Hoffpauir Viator, 78, of Bridge City, passed away, Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Reverend Paul Zoch of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum in Orange.

Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joyce was born June 20, 1930, in Sulphur, LA, to J.V. and Zilda Smith Hoffpauir.

Joyce was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Bridge City, and she was owner of the original Burgertown on Texas Ave. in Bridge City from 1970 to 1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Joseph Viator, sister, Mable Kurtz and brother, Elmo Hoffpauir.

She is survived by her children, Jan Brown and husband, O.D. of Bridge City, Zilda Viator of West Orange, Theresa Babineaux and husband Karlan, Freddy Viator and wife Tina, Victor Viator and wife Kathy, all of Bridge City, Blain Viator and wife Kathy of Orange and Claude Viator and wife Sherry of Bridge City; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and sister Laura Domingue of Bridge City.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Viator, Jareb Logan, Cory Harrison, Willie Daville, Gerald Shallenberger and Gary Peery.

Honorary pallbearers are Robert Boudreaux and Terry Duhon.

Aunt Joyce, you will be missed by all who knew you!!! I can remember coming down to TX from KC as if it was yesterday. You will be so missed the best part of growing up was the summers you & uncle fred would come up to kansas city and bring all the kids no mater what was going on you were alwas calm, its hard to believe your gone.
